MEET THE LEADERS IN THE LRKA

Spring 2008

Your Representatives from the Laid Back League

Name:  Ian "Serial Lady Killer" Beard

Team: Repeat Offenders

Joined the League- Spring 2005

Notable Accomplishments- A dancing maniac, Ian is also famous for starting the only known wave to ever be successfully started at ALLTEL Arena.  He did this two years in a row!  Recognizable by his mirrored shades, questionable fashion sense and first base forty oncers of cold and frothy malt beverages.

Favorite Kickball Memory:   ""That memory one is hard.  Was it last year when we beat arch rivals Marquis de Sod for the first time ever, ending their undefeated season, after having met the Trippin' Balls challenge head on by playing in a diaper and cleats the first half of the doubleheader?  Or is it judging the first (and only) Jell-O shot contest after consuming two colt 45 32's while hanging on Hot Tamale girls (I've got the pictures to prove it) during the end of season party and championship in fall 2005?  Hmmm, those are both pretty good, so take your pick."

Joined the League- Played 1st season with Helmet in the Bush; Started Loaded Bases season 2

Notable Accomplishments- Have played all seasons with both my sisters and we're still Friends!

Fav. Kickball Memory: There are so many...but I would have to say our very first season we drew the No Homers, a "veteran" team from season 1, on our very first game.  I was kind of nervous but we came out and had fun and got our first WIN by a score of 8 - 2!!  It was a great boost of confidence and a nice way to begin our first season of Kickball.

Your Representatives from the Competitive League

  Name:  Gannon Milne

Team:  Kickball Kampand now also plays on Pacheco

Joined the League- Joined the league season 2 (Fall 2004) as a member of Kickball Kamp

Notable Accomplishments-  Since Kickball Kamp began playing in the second year, we have made the playoffs every year.  Although, last year was the first time we did not make the final weekend.  I guess that's what happens when you get old and no I am not 40 yet.  I am not sure if this is a good thing or not, but Poo seems to "let" me umpire some of the more difficult games over the years.  After years of softball kickball has become something I look forward to during the week and I am glad I was talked into playing by my girlfriend (Wendy) years ago.

Fav. Kickball Memory: My kickball memories do date back to playing kickball in middle school on the black top of the play ground when the grass was to wet.  Those games seem to stick in my memories because those were the games that caused the most skinned knees every time.  More recent, I would say I have no major memory of any particular game but more the people I have meet over the years.  Drinking beer until the last game of the night, being heckled from the stands while umpiring or cussing everyone Monday mornings sore with a hangover, those are the memories that bring a smile to my face.

Name:  Jason Neidhardt, aka "Red Panther" formally known as "Defending Champ"

Team: The Big Urns, formally of the Boulevard Franchise

Joined the League- Been around since the inaugural season.

Notable Accomplishments- As I co-captained the infamous Boulevard dynasty to 3 consecutive undefeated season, winning 34 games in a row. I was named the Asshole Message Poster of the year in Spring '05. Took a 2 season hiatus while living in New Orleans (don't ask, it's ruined) and returned this past fall. I will be the executive chef at the new baseball stadium restaurant, so be sure to come by and see me in April.

Fav. Kickball Memory:  My favorite memory has to be from the second season's semifinal playoff game when BLVD was down by 4 to F-Bombs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th and nobody on. What transpired over the next 10 minutes will always live on as one of the greatest comebacks in league history. We were at the bottom of our line up and all of a sudden we had scored a run and the bases were loaded with my man Zack up to kick. He launched a deep one to RF and caught the rightfielder off-guard. The ball landed behind him and Zack scored a grand slam to win it. We had a dogpile at the plate and fans were storming the field to celebrate with us. It was absolutely incredible.
